Webinar: Anopheles

March 19, 2019, 1-2 pm Eastern/10-11 am Pacific (USA time): You can click here for a link to the webinar start time in your timezone.

Sequenced genomes available in VectorBase

  • We host 21 Anopheles genomes, representing 19 major, minor and non-vector species (Holt et al. 2002, Lawniczak et al. 2010, Marinotti et al. 2013, Zhou et al. 2014, Jiang et al. 2014, Neafsey et al. 2015). Four of these species, An. coluzzii, An. gambiae, An. sinensis and An. stephensi, have more than one strain sequenced.
  • Improved Anopheles genome assemblies are coming soon (Waterhouse et al. 2019), the news will be shared in the release notes.

Other data types available in VectorBase

  • Of the 19 species with a genome, the following have other data types: 15 species have microarray and/or RNAseq transcript data (including differential expression experiments), seven species have assembled transcriptomes, 12 species have variation data (SNP and INDEL calls), 16 species have population biology data and proteomes are only available for An. gambiae. In each one of these data categories, except for variation and proteomes, we also have records from other Anopheles species.
