Background
|
The genome of Aedes aegypti Liverpool strain has been sequenced to approximately 8X coverage
in a joint effort by the Broad Institute
and The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) and funded
by NIAID. Assembly was performed at the Broad Institute using their whole genome assembly
package ARACHNE.
The initial gene set, AaegL1.1 was the result of a collaboration between
TIGR and VectorBase and was published in 2006. The first update of the
gene set, AaegL1.2, was completed by VectorBase, and mainly consisted in
the incorporation of gene models from the community.
Because the 4,758 supercontigs in the assembly have not yet been physically mapped to chromosomes,
the assembly is now viewable only as individual supercontig. To browse the
annotations, enter either a gene or a supercontig number and optionally, a pair of base pair
coordinates in the positions provided below.
